The moment diners step inside My Thai Restaurant, a subtle blend of warm lighting and gentle Thai-inspired decor sets a relaxed mood, inviting patrons to unwind. At the heart of the experience lies a menu that offers both comforting classics and inventive dishes, though some might find the spice levels inconsistent across selections. While the service carries a friendly, attentive quality, occasional waits between courses can interrupt the flow of the meal. Photos of the dishes shared by regular customers suggest a vibrant presentation that often lives up to expectations, reinforcing the restaurant’s growing reputation.
Rich aromas of lemongrass and coconut greet guests well before meals arrive, and the balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors hint at familiarity with traditional Thai cuisine. It’s noteworthy how the environment manages to feel casual yet thoughtfully arranged—perfect for a quiet dinner or a small gathering. However, several reviews mention that portion sizes vary, occasionally leaving larger appetites wanting more. Exploring the offerings through the lens of user experiences reveals that while some dishes like the pad thai or green curry tend to delight, others might fall slightly short on depth or needed seasoning. Nonetheless, the value remains reasonable given the quality found throughout the menu.
Observing the rhythms of the restaurant during a busy evening introduces a dynamic scene with bursts of conversation and clinking dishes, underscoring the venue’s popularity in the local dining scene. Despite minor inconsistencies, the overall impression from multiple perspectives confirms a consistent commitment to authentic Thai flavors and a cozy ambiance. Visitors looking through My Thai Restaurant reviews often highlight the approachable staff and the inviting atmosphere as strong points, even while noting opportunities for refinement. Such feedback helps set realistic expectations, providing a balanced view for those considering a visit.

BEST PLACE 4 ASIAN FOOD. Friendly staff & yummy food. Tom Yum soup = Delicious. Seafood stir fry = BEST FRESH SEAFOOD. There are plenty of vegetarian options. Fully licensed venue based in the heart of Gisborne. Short drive from Macedon & Woodend. Easy parking in the front. Kudos to all the staff for their excellent fast service. Will come back soon. Cheers. Roy
Excellent food but a little pricy compared to some other Thai resteraunts that I have been too (but probably typically priced for the location). The crispy barramundi in red curry is awesome.
Delicious food and very friendly and efficient staff. Red curry was so yum as well as the Thai fried rice . Large portions enough for lunch the next day !
